Rubies, sapphires and emeralds, oh my! SZA was fully bejeweled for her Saturday Night Live performance on December 3, thanks to her ornate gemstone manicure. SZA, who (finally!) has new music on the way, hit the SNL stage in a glittering jewel manicure courtesy of nail artist Melissa Samuel of Finesse Your Claws.
The musician’s nails were shaped into extra long, precise squares for maximum jewel coverage and painted a rich, bright cobalt blue. Each nail was a treasure chest of sparkling surprises, including a literal diamond ring on her pinky, a square and heart-shaped emerald on her middle finger, and even cherries and a jeweled butterfly on one hand. It’s a maximalist’s delight, with each nail more glittering and glamorous than the next. My sparkle-obsessed child self would have flipped over this manicure, but my adult self is equally smitten with it too.
SZA also showed off the manicure on Instagram, sharing a few backstage shots from her SNL stop, including a few pics of the cutout KHIRY dress she wore in promo pics for the big event and her long, fluffy waves.
