Last week, Taraji P Henson made a cameo on Abbott Elementary, to the delight of fans. Now, Henson is taking our breath away with her braided, slicked-back ponytail that touches the floor. Henson wore the super long braid to the Fear of God Fall 2023 Ready-to-Wear fashion show on April 19. She thankfully posted a few photos, taken by Los Angeles-based photographer Mr. D Adams, of her all-black outfit and ponytail.
Hairstylist Tym Wallace, who regularly styles her hair, must have used a strong-hold gel for this sleek ponytail because not a hair was out of place. He brushed her hair into a low ponytail. We know Wallace used extensions of some sort to create this floor-length braid — the question really is whether he used standard Kanekalon braiding hair or human hair extensions. Wallace didn’t do too much with Henson’s edges and swooped the baby hairs on her temples into a simple shape.

Makeup artist Saisha Beechman painted Henson’s face for the night. Her cheeks looked like they were sculpted by the gods. Beechman buffed a few dark shadows onto her eye lids as well, keeping things simple but effective. We definitely need the details on these lashes because they look thick, long, and wispy — are they extensions or just a pair of falsies? (Beechman, if you see this, let us know.) Beechman filled in Henson’s lips in a muted rose-coral shade, tying the whole thing together.
Henson looked phenomenal here. Her strong lip and sleek ponytail definitely get a 10 out of 10 from us.
