By now, “This Barbie is…” memes, Barbiecore, and a deluge of all-pink-everything have died down a bit (okay, maybe not the explosion of pink) since Barbie was released in late July. Despite that, I think I’m still seeing dolls everywhere I look — which might be why the moment I saw Dylan Mulvaney‘s wavy blonde ponytail and monochromatic blue makeup, I thought, “That’s Ice Queen Barbie.”
Though pink may be Barbie’s official color, Mulvaney arrived in a monochromatic blue look to Variety‘s Power of Young Hollywood, held on August 10. Her bright blonde hair was curled (probably with a curling wand) and styled into a sleek high ponytail. Blonde waves descended from the ponytail on the crown of her head towards her mid-back.
A section of her blonde hair wrapped around her ponytail base covered whatever hair tie lay underneath. What really makes this ponytail great, in my not-so-humble opinion, is the spiral of hair that fell over the side of her face and just barely grazed her shoulders.
