It was not as bad as I thought, TBH, but I also do NOT think keto is a way of life. Our bodies prefer to burn carbs for a reason, and since I am no longer in weight loss mode, I am going to give my body what it wants. If you’re looking to reset, however, maybe it’s worth a try for a short span of time!! If you are looking for the best snacks for healthy fat, look no further. Watch this video for more…
Another big perk for me was remembering how amazing healthy fat can make you feel. Not only does it make your food richer and more satisfying (win!), it also helps you feel full and helps get rid of cravings. So I wanted to share my favorite, easy keto snacks.
Feeling a little peckish between meals shouldn’t have to get in the way of your progress towards your #goals. That’s why I’m loving these easy keto snacks. Whether you’re keeping keto or just want a low-carb, satisfying bite to eat, check these out!
Keto Cheese Crisps
Sometimes, you just want something with a little crunch. These cheese crisps will scratch your cracker itch, plus they’re a cinch. All you need is:
- Sliced cheese (cheddar is great, but you can mix things up with provolone or Edam)
- Paprika
Heat your oven to 400° F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Lay your cheese slices on the baking sheet and sprinkle them with paprika. Bake them until crispy. This usually takes about eight minutes, but it could be longer if the slices are thick. Wait for your crisps to cool, then dig in!
Keto Caprese Skewers
You can put these together in just a few minutes, and they’re so pretty you could easily bring them to your next potluck. To assemble your skewers, you’ll need:
- Cherry or grape tomatoes
- Small mozzarella balls
- Basil
On your skewer, alternate tomato, mozzarella, and basil. If you’re making a mini snack, you can do just one of each, or you can fill up a full-length wooden skewer for an on the go, keto-friendly snack!
Hard-boiled Eggs
I know, this is simple, but seriously guys, a hard-boiled egg is such an awesome source of protein. It’s seriously one of my favorite easy keto snacks. And you can mix it up, seasoning it with different herbs and spices to make sure you don’t get sick of them if you make a big batch.
To make foolproof hard-boiled eggs, arrange the eggs in the bottom of a pot and cover them with an inch of cool water. Bring the pot to a boil, then turn off the heat and let them sit for fifteen minutes. You’re done!
Keto Almond Joy Fat Bombs
Craving something sweet? These three-ingredient fat bombs are equal parts simple and decadent. I mean, hello, lots of chocolate! Gather up:
- Organic dark chocolate chips (make sure these don’t have tons of sugar added)
- Coconut butter
- Almonds
Line a muffin tin with paper liners. Melt two cups of chocolate chips (stovetop is great, but you can microwave them, too). Divide the melted chocolate between each cup of your muffin tin and use a butter knife to push the chocolate up the sides of the cups. Refrigerate until set, then add a dollop of coconut butter to each cup. Melt a little more chocolate and top each cup with it. Set an almond on top of each cup, refrigerate until firm, then dig in! This is definitely one of the most delicious easy keto snacks.
If you’re not a coconut butter gal, you can also use peanut or almond butter! And points for making them in a heart shape for Valentine’s Day next month!
Keto Cucumber Sandwiches
Missing bread? You don’t have to miss out on sandwiches altogether. Make some simple keto snack sandwiches by cutting a cucumber into two-inch sections. Cut each section in half and scoop out the seeds. Layer your favorite sandwich meats and cheeses on one half, top with the other half, and you can snack away guilt-free.
Keeping keto isn’t always easy, but it can help you feel more energized and clearer headed. Have you tried the keto trend? What changes did you notice in your body? What are your favorite easy keto snacks? Let me know in the comments!
