Emma Chamberlain Using Her Childhood Flatiron Is So Relatable — See Photos

When you grow up and move out, especially when you move far away, celebrating the fall and winter holidays with family at your childhood home becomes all the more special. Gathering around the old dining room table, sleeping in your childhood bed, looking through decades-old photo albums, and — perhaps the best part — using whatever beauty products are still in your childhood bathroom. Did I say “the best”? I meant the most precarious. Will anything bad happen to you if you use the body lotion that’s been in the medicine cabinet since 2007? Possibly. Will you electrocute yourself if you attempt to use your first-ever heat tool? Unlikely — it might not even turn on. But a very lucky and nostalgic Emma Chamberlain actually had great flatiron success when she went home for Thanksgiving this week.

Like so many people, Chamberlain spent Thanksgiving in her childhood home. While she didn’t share anything about her holiday meal or spending time with family, she did spend time with an old friend: a 10-year-old flatiron.

Chamberlain posted a photo to her Instagram Story on Thursday, November 23, showing her silver-manicured hand hovering above a pastel area rug as it holds a pink Revlon Perfect Heat Ceramic Straightener — a model that’s no longer available unless you search the depths of eBay, Mercari, and Poshmark. “Home for Thanksgiving and I’m gonna use my hair straightener from 5th grade,” she wrote.
