Kate Middleton Looks Like One of Charlie’s Angels With Her ‘70s-Style Blowout — See Photos

I often wonder if the women of the royal family are just itching to break away from royal protocol and do something rebellious with their beauty looks. And by rebellious, I don’t mean blue hair or tattoos or three-dimensional nail art; I mean anything even a centimeter outside of the straight-and-narrow lines they stick to. Does Kate Middleton ever feel like wearing black nail polish? Dyeing her hair blonde? Wearing hot-pink lipstick? It’s hard to say, but after seeing her hair during an event in England on Friday, I think it’s safe to assume she’s willing to style her classic hair in a trendier way every now and then.

The Princess of Wales visited a charitable organization called Sebby’s Corner as part of the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood’s support of families with young children. She wore a dark brown, ribbed turtleneck tucked into a belted, brown midi skirt that fell over tall boots. As is often the case with Middleton’s informal public appearances, she wore her very long, golden-brown hair down with a hint of loose curl — but this time, something was bit different.

We know Middleton has recently been channeling retro hair icons like Brigitte Bardot and Farah Fawcett with her curtain bangs, but she really went full Charlie’s Angels with her latest blowout. Parted a bit off-center, her hair is flipped out and away from her face in voluminous swoops, much like the blowouts that were popular in the ’70s. The look started making a comeback a couple of years ago, and now it seems that the trend is being accepted, embraced, and executed within the bounds of royal beauty parameters.
